Health score compares our pre-engagement audit of the old site (June 2026) with the launch audit of the new one (August 2026).
A good workshop, held back by its website.
ASR Autoworks is an independent mechanical workshop in Clyde North, servicing Melbourne's south-east since 2010. Their pitch is simple: dealership-level servicing without the dealership price, backed by a 4.9-star Google rating.
The website didn't match. The old site was slow, thin on structure and quietly invisible to Google, and the SEO arrangement they were paying for wasn't delivering. Booking a car in meant phone tag during workshop hours.
The ask: a site that looks the way the workshop actually works, takes bookings on its own, and a tech setup they control end to end.
The old site, at a glance
- Site health score
- 61 / 100
- Online booking
- None, phone only
- How Google read it
- Patchy, key pages missing
- Old URLs at launch
- 20 redirects mapped, none lost
Old-site figures from our pre-engagement audit, June 2026; redirects mapped at launch.
One partner, the whole stack.
Website, booking, SEO, email and hosting, handled as one job instead of four vendors.
The site
Homepage-as-hub navigation, eight service pages, a dedicated fleet page for business clients and a gallery of real workshop photos. Built on the same modern stack we use for our own site.
Custom online booking
A booking flow with live availability, wired straight into the workshop's Google Calendar. No third-party booking platform. More on this below.
SEO built to carry over
Structured data on every page, per-service FAQs, and 20 redirects mapped from the old site so every URL Google already knew still lands on the right page instead of a dead end.
Email & infrastructure
The whole business moved onto Google Workspace, with years of mail history migrated in. Site and email cut over on the same day, nothing dropped.
Plus the extras around launch: a re-pointable QR code for their printed banner, print-ready newspaper ads, and matching email signatures.
Bookings that land straight in their calendar.
Off-the-shelf booking tools charge every month, forever. We built ASR their own instead: customers pick a service, a day and an exact start time, and the booking lands in the workshop's Google Calendar as a tentative block, ready to confirm with one call back.
- Live availability read straight from their calendar
- A double-booking guard at the moment of submit
- Automatic day-before reminder emails to customers
- No booking-software subscription, ever

The booking flow on the live site. Taken slots grey out automatically, read from the workshop's real calendar.
Fast on launch day, and on the record.
Numbers from the launch-week audit, August 2026. The site renders full HTML to search engines and AI assistants alike, so when someone asks for a mechanic in Clyde North, ASR is built to be found and read.
How it ran
A free homepage concept the day of the first phone call, then a full custom build. The calendar here isn't build time: most of it went on things worth doing properly. Real workshop photos instead of stock, a booking system built from scratch, years of email moved without losing a message, and decisions fitted around a workshop with cars on hoists. A standard site build goes live in a week or two.
Your business could be next.
